Peter Opsal, Captain, USN (Ret), teaches the Leadership and Managerial Skills course at TRMI. He served 28 years in leadership positions as a Surface Warfare Officer on seven surface combatants, commanding both an AEGIS destroyer and an AEGIS cruiser. He was also assigned to a leadership position as the Chief of Staff for the Commander, THIRD Fleet, the training fleet for the Western Pacific.

Peter earned a Masters degree in Management at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Following his Naval career, he honed his managerial skills working as a senior functional analyst, consult, and program manager, on surface ship readiness, for the Commander Naval Surface Forces, US Pacific Fleet. Peter enjoys playing golf and sailing with his wife in the San Diego Bay, and on occasion, trips to Catalina Island.
