QMED Fireman/Oiler/Watertender (QMEDFOWT) – San Diego, CA

Mariners successfully completing TRLMI’s QMED Fireman/Watertender & Oiler course will satisfy the professional examination requirements of Table 1 to 46 CFR 12.505(c) for National Rating endorsements as “Fireman/Watertender” and “Oiler” AND receive credit for 90 days of sea service needed for a QMED Fireman/Watertender and Oiler endorsement, PROVIDED THAT YOU ALSO PRESENT EVIDENCE OF AT LEAST 90 DAYS ENGINE ROOM SERVICE.

Effective January 1st, 2023: the courses taking place in 2023 will satisfy:
The professional examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.505(c)(5) for national rating endorsements as QMED-Oiler and Fireman/Watertender; AND receive 60 days of sea service credit towards the sea service requirements of 46 CFR 12.503(a). This course does not satisfy any competencies for STCW.
