Mariners that successfully complete TRLMI’s QMED Electrician/Refrigerating Engineer course and submit their certificate within one year of successful course completion will satisfy the professional examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.501(c)(5) for a national endorsement as a QMED–Electrician/Refrigeration Engineer.
Through the use of classroom presentations, hands-on practical demonstration, and shipboard training evolutions, candidates will demonstrate the practical skills needed for an endorsement as a QMED Electrician/Refrigeration.
This course provides mariners the experience and training in engine room operation, involving electrical and refrigeration systems including generator and distribution systems, and preparing, starting, paralleling, and changing over generators including:
TO APPLY FOR THE ENDORSEMENT ON YOUR MMC, THE CERTIFICATE(S) OF COMPLETION FROM THIS COURSE MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE USCG WITHIN ONE YEAR OF THE COURSE COMPLETION DATE.
