Once enrolled, you will receive access to the Online Portal within 2-3 business days via email. You have up to 12 weeks to complete the online course starting on the date that TRLMI sends you your course log-in email. THERE ARE NO EXTENSIONS past this 12-week time frame. The following items are included in the Online Course and will be mailed to you: a training chart, the USCG Navigation Rules & Regulations Handbook ("Rules of the Road" book), and our Mariner's Guide to Rules of the Road study aid that our training school created.

Our online course final exam testing locations are currently only in: Alameda and San Diego, California; Honolulu, Hawaii.

You should ensure you are aware of the U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center requirements for a license/endorsement, prior to enrolling in a course. Please visit our license requirements page to review some of the important requirements for a national OUPV or Master Less than 100 Tons license; and more importantly, refer to the USCG National Maritime Center website. Our staff can help answer your questions about which level of license you may qualify for.

In addition to the course cost, the following additional items are REQUIRED for this online class:

• Plotting Tools: We recommend Weems and Plath Roll Plotter #120, Ultralight Dividers #176, and Triangle #101

We highly advise that these items are purchased at the time of enrollment.
These items are available from our shop or using the links at the bottom of this page and will be shipped with your course textbooks.

When you are finished with the online course you will take your proctored USCG Approved final exams at one of our approved locations. Upon successful completion of the final exams in-person, you will receive a course Certificate of Training that is valid for 1 year to be submitted to a USCG Regional Exam Center.
