Class Requirements:
You should ensure you are aware of the U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center requirements for a license/endorsement, prior to enrolling in a course. Please visit ourlicense requirements page to review some of the important requirements for a national OUPV or Master Less than 100 Tons license; and more importantly, refer to the USCG National Maritime Center website. Our staff can help answer your questions about which level of license you may qualify for.
When you register for this Captain's License Course, we will mail you the following required books for the class: (3) TRLMI Captain Course books, and (1) USCG Navigation Rules & Regulations Handbook ("Rules of the Road" book). We highly advise that you register for this course at least one month in advance to allow adequate time to study.
When checking-out, PROVIDE A SHIPPING ADDRESS otherwise your books will be mailed to the billing address.
You will be loaned the following required tools in class: A set of plotting tools that includes a roll plotter, triangle, dividers, a basic calculator, and our navigational study aid "Mariner's Guide to Rules of the Road." These tools will be loaned to you in class, but you are welcome to bring your own or purchase them from TRLMI to keep.
