Basic Training Revalidation STCW (BTRV) – San Diego, CA

TRLMI’s U.S. Coast Guard Approved Basic Training Revalidation course satisfies the continued competency requirements for Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting in STCW as amended 2010, Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(d) and 46 CFR 12.602(d), as required every five years for mariners sailing under the STCW requirements, PROVIDED that the individual has [and submits to the U.S. Coast Guard] at least 360 DAYS OF QUALIFYING SEA SERVICE in the last 5 years on vessels that are REQUIRED to hold regular fire, emergency, and abandon ship drills, and has been previously certified per Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code.

This 1-day Revalidation course is a U.S. Coast Guard-approved course and therefore may not be accepted by foreign governments/employers. This course is directed towards U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential holders, who must refer to the following U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center requirements for renewal of Basic Training: https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/NMC/pdfs/checklists/mcp_fm_nmc5_241_web.pdf

Sea service must be submitted to U.S. Coast Guard with application for renewal. Sea service on recreational vessels that are not subject to STCW must submit actual proof of drills.

If you are NOT a U.S. mariner credential holder, you must check with your foreign agency if they would accept this training certificate. For example, the United Kingdom MCA may or may not accept this 1-day Revalidation training. TRLMI advises that Non-U.S. mariners should instead renew their Basic Training through our 3-day Basic Training Refresher course which satisfies continued competency requirements for STCW Basic Training (not limited to Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting).
