This endorsement is required if you plan on operating an Inspected Sailing Vessel. It is not required if you plan on operating an Uninspected Sailing Vessel with passengers for hire.

THERE ARE SAIL/AUXILIARY SAIL VESSEL SEA TIME REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ENDORSEMENT:

You must document at least 180 days of sea time on a sail or auxiliary sail vessel in order to obtain this endorsement on a Master Inland or Mate Near Coastal license.

You must document at least 360 days of sea time on a sail or auxiliary sail vessel in order to obtain this endorsement on a Master Near Coastal license.

You have up to 4 weeks to complete the online course starting on the date that TRLMI sends you your course log-in email. THERE ARE NO EXTENSIONS past this 4-week time frame. When you are finished with the online course, you will schedule to take your proctored USCG Approved final exam at one of our approved locations (by appointment only). Our final exam testing locations are currently only in: Alameda and San Diego, California; Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon successful completion of the final exam you will receive a course Certificate of Training that is valid for 1 year to be submitted to the USCG.

Once enrolled, you will receive access to the Online Portal within 2-3 business days via email.
